David Lucas
Principal and CEO
David oversees a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential reconstruction projects. With more than eighteen years in the industry, he has led everything from large-scale commercial renovations to custom residential rebuilds, including partnerships with local universities to create affordable housing.
Recognized as one of Portland Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 and recipient of the Liberty & Hope Award from the League of Minority Voters, David is respected as both a business leader and community advocate. His background as a nonprofit executive, real estate investor, and former professional athlete gives him a unique ability to combine strategic vision with hands-on leadership, ensuring each project reflects both quality craftsmanship and community impact.
Keeley O’Brien
Principal and Co-Founder
In the fall of 2021, Keeley O’Brien co-founded Lucas Design Build with a vision to build better — delivering thoughtful, community-centered projects through collaboration and craftsmanship. With more than three decades of construction leadership across the Willamette Valley and Oregon Coast, Keeley brings deep expertise and a design-build mindset to every engagement.
A DBIA-certified professional, he fosters strong alignment among owners, designers, and trade partners to ensure efficient delivery and lasting quality. Under his leadership, Lucas Design Build has supported impactful projects including Oregon State University’s 77-unit Harborton Street Housing in Newport, strengthening communities through intentional construction and trusted partnerships.
